Born and raised in Dublin Barry O Brien spent over four decades working as a policeman in the Irish Police Force, An Garda Siochana.
Upon his retirement he combined his love of history with an intimate knowledge of his native city setting up Hibernoceltic Tours, an independent tour company providing a tailored experience of Dublin’s history, culture and unique character.
He is the author of two acclaimed works of historical fiction. His debut novel The Notetakers and its sequel Burning Down the House reveal hidden corners that historians rarely mention. His historical tours are signature journeys through different chapters of Irish history providing a truly unforgettable experience.
